1. Overview
OrbitExSpace Inc. ("OrbitExSpace", "we", "us") is, at its core, a research and engineering organization. This page describes how we conduct research and testing, and how we present the results. It supplements our Disclaimers page.
2. Research Integrity Policy
We conduct research with integrity. We report results honestly, including negative results and anomalies. We do not selectively report data to support a preferred conclusion, and we do not present speculative work as established. Where we are uncertain, we say so. Where a result depends on assumptions, we state them.
3. Testing and Qualification Policy
We test to verify, not to pass. Tests are designed to probe the boundaries of a design and to find failure modes, not only to demonstrate nominal performance. We document test objectives, conditions, and results, and we preserve the evidence needed to support later verification claims.
4. Environmental Testing
Hardware intended for extreme environments is tested to the environments it will face. Where we cannot fully reproduce a target environment, we test to representative or aggravated conditions and acknowledge the gap between test and reality. We do not claim a system is qualified for an environment it has not been tested to.
5. Flight Hardware Qualification
Future flight hardware will be qualified through a documented qualification program appropriate to its criticality, including environmental, functional, and endurance testing, with a traceable safety case. We will not commit hardware to flight until its qualification is complete and reviewed.
6. Prototype and Experimental Hardware Disclaimer
Hardware shown on the Site or in our public communications may be a prototype, an engineering unit, or an experimental article. Such hardware is not flight hardware and may not meet the qualification, reliability, or safety standards required for flight. Where a distinction matters, we will identify hardware as prototype, engineering, qualification, or flight.
7. Concept Vehicle Disclaimer
The ARES-0 Pioneer platform shown on the Site is a terrestrial autonomy testbed. It is not a flight vehicle, not a spaceflight article, and not certified for any space mission. Descriptions of future vehicles reflect engineering intent, not built hardware.
8. No Flight Certification Disclaimer
No OrbitExSpace system is flight-certified. No system has received any certification, license, or qualification for flight, for spaceflight, or for operation in any regulated environment. We will not represent any system as certified until it has completed the applicable certification process.
9. No Regulatory Approval Disclaimer
No OrbitExSpace system or operation has received regulatory approval from the FAA, FCC, NOAA, or any other authority. We have no pending applications for launch, reentry, spectrum use, or remote sensing. This page describes the framework we will apply when such approvals become relevant, not the status of any approval.
10. Research and Development Safety
Our research and development is conducted under documented safety procedures, with hazard analysis for new activities and stop-work authority for any participant. We test to failure deliberately — and we do so safely. See our Safety Policies page for the detail.
