Who we are.
OrbitExSpace is an aerospace engineering firm focused on autonomous robotics and habitat infrastructure for the Moon and Mars. We are a deliberately small team of engineers who have chosen hard, long-horizon problems over fast ones. Everything we build is designed to run alone, in environments where no one is coming to help.
We build the infrastructure that arrives after landing — the machines and habitats that turn a landing site into a working outpost. Our work falls into three connected programs.
ARES
A family of autonomous surface rovers for survey, transport, and site preparation — built to operate through long nights, dust, and communications delay.
Habitats
Pressurized, modular shelter and life-support systems sized for crews and cargo, assembled on the surface from parts that survive the trip.
Mission Control
The ground software and operations layer that supervises autonomous assets across light-minutes of latency.
Build for the worst day
Every system we build has to work on the day nothing else does — cold, dark, dust-bound, and far from help. We design for the worst case and verify against it.
Prove it before you say it
We test to failure, document the result, and report honestly. A claim we have not verified is a claim we have not made.
Small team, large problems
We stay deliberately small. Each person owns a meaningful piece of the problem and ships hardware, code, or analysis — not slides.
No rescue, no resupply
Autonomy is not a feature. It is the premise. We build systems that have to succeed alone, and we hold ourselves to that standard.
We keep the team small and the stakes high, so the package is built to let you do your best work without distraction. Benefits apply to all full-time team members.
Meaningful equity
Early-stage equity grants, because the people building the company should own a real share of it.
Comprehensive health
Full medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents, plus mental-health support.
Flexible time off
No accrual accounting. Take the time you need to rest and return sharp. We measure output, not hours at a desk.
Learning budget
Annual stipend for books, courses, conferences, and field training relevant to your discipline.
Relocation support
Practical, generous relocation assistance for moves to our Los Angeles facility.
Parental leave
Generous, gender-neutral parental leave so new families can be present without trade-offs.
We do not build alone. Our work depends on durable relationships with suppliers, researchers, regulators, and the communities that host our testing.
We work with a vetted network of precision manufacturers, test facilities, and research institutions. Relationships are long-horizon: we invest in capability together rather than racing to the lowest quote.
We collaborate with universities and national labs on fundamental problems — planetary protection, extreme-environment materials, and autonomous systems — publishing results where they advance the field.
We engage proactively with export-control, spectrum, and aerospace regulatory bodies. Compliance is designed in, not bolted on, and documented to audit-grade standards.
We hire, test, and manufacture locally where we can, and we keep our analogue-field work transparent with the communities that host it.
