Mission Operations Engineer (Remote)

Systems EngineeringRemote — USFull-timeRemote

Build the ground operations tools and procedures that supervise autonomous assets across light-minutes of latency.

Overview

You will design and operate the mission-control layer — the tools, telemetry, and procedures that let a small team supervise autonomous systems under high latency. You will work closely with autonomy and embedded engineers to define what the ground actually needs to see and do.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain mission-control tooling and telemetry pipelines
  • Develop operations procedures and contingency plans for off-nominal scenarios
  • Run simulations and rehearsals with the engineering team
  • Define metrics and instrumentation for ground situational awareness

Requirements

  • Experience in mission operations, spacecraft ops, or comparable remote-asset operations
  • Strong software skills; comfortable with telemetry, scripting, and tooling
  • Ability to reason about off-nominal behavior under latency
  • Systems engineering mindset

Nice to have

  • Prior experience with autonomous or deep-space operations
  • Flight software or ground-data system background
  • Experience designing operator interfaces for high-latency links
