R-04
Embedded Software Engineer
Embedded SoftwareLos Angeles, CAFull-timeHybrid
Develop flight-grade embedded software for autonomous systems, with rigor appropriate to safety-critical functions.
Overview
You will write the embedded software that runs on our vehicles and habitats — the layer between hardware and autonomy. Rigor matters: much of this code is safety-relevant and must behave predictably in conditions we cannot directly observe.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain embedded firmware across our hardware platforms
- Implement safe, deterministic drivers and control loops
- Define and maintain build, test, and release processes for embedded code
- Work with hardware engineers through bring-up and integration
Requirements
- Strong C/C++ on resource-constrained MCUs and SoCs
- Experience with RTOS, drivers, and hardware bring-up
- Familiarity with safety-critical and deterministic software practices
- CS/CE/EE degree or equivalent
Nice to have
- Experience with formal methods or MISRA-style guidelines
- Prior aerospace or safety-critical embedded systems
- Real-time communications (CAN, Ethernet, custom links)
